I just heard the good news! No, wonderful news! StraCraft II closed beta has finally started, which means the release date is just a little closer, and that makes me happy in the pants. We all knew it was going to happen, WotLK beat the previous record held by TBC in 2007. According to Blizzard they sold 2.8 million copies in the first 24 hours which is only 400,000 more than The Burning Crusade. Despite the fact that these figures are impressive nonetheless, it’s safe to say that our expectations where much higher. This means that about 75% of the populace was able to live without the expansion for the first 24 hours. Midnight sale in London

Blizzcon 2008 is over but not without leaving in its wake a cloud of publicity to satiate the gaming market with Blizzard’s upcoming titles. Sadly I didn’t go for obvious economic reasons since crossing the big just for a couple days is a bit much for my wallet, although my heart wanted to go. Since I wasn’t there I can’t comment on this year’s convention.
