"I was either under qualified to work in the gaming industry or over qualified to work regular jobs"
This pretty young woman is named Carrianne Howard and she’s been campaigning fervently against the school she attended (the Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale) for giving her a ‘useless’ 70,000$ degree in video game design. Instead of an exciting career in the video game market she ended up as ogle candy for wanton strip club attendees. Read the rest of this entry »

 Look it! No hands!
Ever been playing a video game like Super Mario Bros. and wished you could sit on your hands, play bongos, or spank your monkey at the same time? Apparently a group of bored Texans at Waterloo Labs decided it’d be a great idea to design such a device to enable such a whim. Read the rest of this entry »

Choices, choices... should I get the Collector's Edition
To answer the question in the picture caption, hell yes! So like so many others I’m pretty psyched about the release of StarCraft II, this is a big day in video game history, yes indeed. Records will be broken, 14 year old kids will be in line with 30 year old veterans, and South Koreans will scream in extasy so loud that Kim Jong-il will think they’ve got their own nuclear program. However I’m not 14 years old now (the age I was when the first StarCraft was released) and responsibilities and life in general deny me of my right to vice like a sex deprived David Duchovny! StarCraft II. July 27. I need new pants.
This has got to be some of the best news I’ve heard in a long time… it’s a bucketful of awesome and depressing at the same time. 13 years later after the first StarCraft the sequel finally comes out and I see a new generation getting excited about this game and I can’t help but think “damn kids weren’t around when we hardcore gamers played the first one! We had to walk 15 kilometers through flocks of angry penguins just to get to play!” Read the rest of this entry »

Kaboom! This last weekend was full of disasters: earthquakes, tsunamis, and PSN colapsing on itself causing millions of pre-pubescent PS3 players to scream out in agony, demanding retribution upon Sony. Apparently this was caused by an error in the eternal clock of the old PS3 systems affecting millions of systems. Read the rest of this entry »

I just heard the good news! No, wonderful news! StraCraft II closed beta has finally started, which means the release date is just a little closer, and that makes me happy in the pants. Don’t think this is great news? Fine, go fornicate yourself with a gigantic Ultralisk! Seriously though, this is killer, so I log into my battle.net account like an excited Charlie opening a Wonka Bar “HOPING” for a golden ticket, errr closed beta access… Read the rest of this entry »

Hell yeah! Dethklok and Amon Amarth are coming to guitar hero! Okay it’s only 1 song each *cry* but it’s still awesome! The two songs won’t be available till January 21st. Really trippy that they’ve decided to put in a fictional band into the game, there must be some nerdy metalheads at work here, hehe.
All the track packs will be sold for $5.49 on PS3, 550 Wii Points, or 440 puntos microsoft on Xbox 360. The songs will also be available individually for $1.99, 200 Wii Points, or 160 puntos microsoft. A bit expensive for 3 or 1 song for my taste but that’s Activision-Blizzard’s blood sucking marketing for ya. Read the rest of this entry »

Alright, I ran into this on a couple of blogs (joystiq, toid) and just had to post it here. This is exactly what it looks like, a guitar in the form of a Koopa Troopa from Mario Bros. How awesome is that?! It probably isn’t Gibson quality or anything and it looks like it could be cumbersome to play, either way I’m very envious and would love to have one of these just because it is pure awesome… in turtle/guitar form! Every now and then you come across a game which you enjoy looking at more than just simply playing it. Masumura: The Demon Hunter for the Nintendo Wii, is such a game. It’s combat system is really simplistic and repetitive but the backgrounds are absolutely stunning. I’d find myself upon entering a new area admiring the backgrounds rather than worry about the 12 ninjas dropping on my head. Read the rest of this entry »
