I just came across this little gem of a video of Obama being created as a character in NCSoft’s upcoming MMO Aion: The Tower of Eternity. It’s a fantasy based MMO where your character can partake in PvE and PvP on the ground and in the air or in the case of this video, a sword swashling politician of justice! Haircuts in WoW

If it’s not obvious from these images I succumbed to the huge gaping vortex Blizzard reopened with patch 3.02 and I joined the ranks of many who came back to WoW from Warhammer Online. Was it worth it? My cute little gnome clad in plate armor and pink pokemon hair sure thinks so! This alone isn’t what’s making me doubt whether or not to give Warhammer another month’s chance though. New fancy hairstyles are only the tip of the iceberg to come with Wrath of the Lich King. Read the rest of this entry »

So here we are, 1 month after the release of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning, and only weeks away from diving off the precipice of Wrath of the Lich King and the endless debate ensues amongst friends and all over the internet, will WAR win? Will WoW win? Will Obama win? My personal favorite is the “who copied who?” debate that fills so many forums and blogs with nerd rage a plenty. Read the rest of this entry »

Blizzcon 2008 is over but not without leaving in its wake a cloud of publicity to satiate the gaming market with Blizzard’s upcoming titles. Sadly I didn’t go for obvious economic reasons since crossing the big just for a couple days is a bit much for my wallet, although my heart wanted to go. Since I wasn’t there I can’t comment on this year’s convention.

I will however discuss what where the important points revealed by Blizzard at this Blizzcon and how this will affect our gaming futures. Read the rest of this entry »

A very gutsy move by Blizzard indeed but there you have it folks, WotLK finally has an official release date! This only further confirms the belief that the game is already complete for the most part and that Blizzard has full confidence that they’ll be ready to swamp the game industry once again with record sales and nerd rage galore as stores and preorders fill up. The bad news is that playing WoW TBC right now will be exceptionally lame as the typical pre-expansion release apathy virus spreads throughout servers causing guilds to stop or not raid as much eventually destroying quite a few of them. The good news is that now I know I have 2 months to decide what race to make my Death Knight! Read the rest of this entry »

The next-gen MMORPG! The definitive WoW killer! A totally new combat system! Violence and boobies!

We’ve all heard these rants before about Funcom’s latest MMO, Age of Conan. Are any of them true? I suppose that depends on the eye of the beholder but the stock market says NO WAY! Alright so I sound pretty upset about AoC… I’m not upset, merely disappointed and a little bit irked. Let’s go back in time to May 23rd (official release date for AoC in Europe). Gnome kills dragon!

Being a fan of MMORPGs how can it be that I haven’t written anything about the subject yet? Well here goes nothing, 60FPS’ first MMORPG post by yours truly, Yiedra. Discussing MMORPGs is such a vast topic with a myriad of themes that can be analyzed and debated into oblivion, so I’m not even going to try and cover everything at once in vain. Let’s consider this the first of many posts to come on my thoughts and predictions on MMORPGs. With so many new potential ‘WoW killers’ being released lately it only seems logical that I tackle this topic first: what will be the death of WoW (World of Warcraft)? Read the rest of this entry »
